Frequently Asked Questions

Does Select Health accept insurance?

No, this model frees us from the contractual restrictions that often limit traditional healthcare providers, allowing us to offer discounted lab pricing and a flexible membership-based care model.

Does Select Health replace insurance?

At Select Health, we strongly recommend that all patients maintain health insurance coverage for major medical events such as trauma, cancer treatment, specialist care, and unexpected surgeries. While our model allows for more affordable and transparent routine care, insurance remains essential for protecting against high-cost emergencies.

We encourage patients to consider selecting a lower-cost, high-deductible insurance plan. This type of plan can provide essential catastrophic coverage while helping to reduce your monthly premium.

What if I do not have health insurance?

At Select Health, we are committed to providing every patient with the same high standard of care and access to services, regardless of their individual circumstances.

What if I need care on the weekend or after hours?

If you are experiencing an urgent medical concern outside of our normal business hours and feel it cannot wait, please seek immediate care at your nearest walk-in clinic or emergency room.

What kind of copayment will I have to pay for wellness and primary care office visits?

Zero. Your monthly membership covers all standard office visits. Additional fees apply only when services such as medications, supplement injections, IV hydration, or non-routine lab work are provided outside of your primary care wellness membership.

Your membership includes an annual wellness exam with routine labs. We are committed to transparent pricing and will always inform you in advance of any out-of-pocket costs—so you know exactly what to expect, without surprise bills months later.

If I have Medicare, can I still join Select Health?

Yes, you will need to sign a one-time waiver declaring that neither you nor your doctor will directly bill Medicare for our services. Medicare will still cover laboratory testing, imaging, medication, or hospitalization ordered by our office.

Will I benefit from Select Health if I don’t require frequent medical attention?

Yes! While we are always here to care for our sick patients, Select Health also emphasizes the importance of proactive health planning and preventive care. Personalized, patient-centered healthcare benefits everyone, and we encourage individuals to take charge of their long-term wellness.

Patients have the option to pay per visit rather than enrolling in a monthly wellness/primary care membership. The per-visit fee is $65. This fee does not include the cost of the annual wellness exam with labs and does not qualify patients for member pricing or discounts on services and products.

For non-members, the annual wellness exam with routine labs is priced between $95 and $150, depending on the tests required.

What is not offered at Select Health?

At Select Health, we do not manage chronic pain or prescribe chronic pain medications. These medications are not stocked or dispensed at our clinic. This decision is based on the fact that chronic pain medications are highly regulated, require ongoing and intensive monitoring, carry a significant risk of misuse or diversion, and in many cases, are not aligned with long-term health and wellness goals. For these reasons, we refer patients requiring chronic pain management to specialized providers better equipped to deliver this level of care.

What types of memberships are offered at Select Health?

Select Health offers a variety of membership options tailored to meet individual health and wellness goals:

Wellness/Direct Primary Care Membership – Provides access to personalized, preventative care and ongoing health support.

Weight Loss Memberships – Choose from four different plans designed to support your weight loss journey with medical guidance and accountability.

Hormone Optimization Membership – Focused on restoring hormonal balance and improving overall vitality.

IV Hydration Membership (offered through The DRIPBaR Bowling Green) – Includes regular access to customized IV vitamin therapy for enhanced hydration, immunity, and wellness.

Can I submit charges to my insurance company?

No. Select Health does not bill insurance, and charges for services rendered cannot be submitted for reimbursement through your insurance provider. Our practice operates on a direct care model, which allows us to provide transparent pricing and personalized care without the restrictions of third-party billing.

Can I get reimbursed for Select Health membership fees from my HSA or FSA?

Not at this time. While Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) currently do not allow reimbursement for membership fees, we are hopeful that this may change in the future as direct primary care models gain wider recognition.

Is my membership fee tax-deductible?

Please consult with a licensed tax professional or accountant regarding whether your Select Health membership fees may qualify as a tax-deductible medical expense. Tax laws can vary, and professional guidance is recommended for accurate and personalized advice.
